Yes, we could have made it easy: Take a Pro Tools HD system, a small controller, an over-priced preamp (for the pseudo Vintage factor), buy some sound replacement CDs, a handful trigger microphones, mouse, keyboard bla bla bla … .and from a stereotype digital recording studio arises a invincible PRO AUDIO fortress!

Unfortunately one thing falls by the wayside at these so-called PRO AUDIO studios: the creativity and last but not least the sound!

Nice animated plug-ins rule the (studio) world nowadays – and sometimes they even sound good. Slogans like "What do you want with a Studer A 80, just take Magneto from Steinberg!" is a daily occurence and horryfies an analog freak like me. But even worse is the modern form of drum recording where talented drummers are degraded to third-class beat-knockers since after a trigger/sound replacement orgy there's almost nothing left of the drum playing (and the drumset)!

The question: "Why can't I hear my own playing anymore?"
The answer: "This is modern, it must be that way." Well, if you can live with that …

We definitely cannot … and simply ignore actual trends because the aura and the musical feeling of a band is the most important thing for us.

We are more than 20 years in business – with good cause:
We are working with first-class equipment and prefer LISTENING instead of COPYING AND PASTING. Of course we also work with software but this is only a means to an end, at best a digital tape deck with feudal cutting potential.

Really good sound arises from a creative mix of first-class analog equipment, empathy for the band and keeping the eye on the essentials.
